Beautiful Player The Beautiful Series Book 5 edition by Christina Lauren Literature Fiction eBooks
Almost 2 years ago, my friend highly recommended "Beautiful Player" to me. I'm one of those people who have a hard time (loved this author(s) and so glad that I was finally able to read this series) 1) checking out authors I'm not familiar with and 2) I'm not able to read 1 book in the center of the series. I strongly feel that each book should have a HEA but that there is a reason books are set as a series so it should be read in order.I really enjoyed this series, it focuses on 5 couples over 10 books. Each book continues where the last ended off so it goes over several years times.
I wanted to help others to get the most from this series but giving a very quick look at the order and overview of this series! Hope this helps you!

Beautiful Player The Beautiful Series Book 5 edition by Christina Lauren Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Bennett, then Max, and now Will. In Beautiful Player, Bennett and Max finally get to let Will have it for falling for his one and only. When the Player falls, he falls hard. Now he has to navigate how to handle it when his role get’s flipped and he’s the one wanting more with someone expecting something casual.
When reading through this series, the first time I read it, I never really had a connection with Will, before reading Beautiful Player. I thought he was funny and I thought he brought out a playful side of Bennett and Max but that was pretty much the extent of the connection I felt with Will. Then when I got to Beautiful Player, during and after reading I began to see the true appeal of Will Sumner. He’s brilliant, sexy, hard working, playful, and funny. He’s mastered the art of overly, scientifically explaining jokes and metaphors but somehow it’s the perfect thing to say for the situation at hand and brings humor or clarity at the given time. Will is a player but he’s not a bad boy. He’s a man who understands woman and has used that to his advantage in his life pre-Hanna. In Player, he falls for a girl, who is like no other and even with all the woman and book knowledge that he has, he’s still not sure what to do. He’s in unchartered waters with wanting more with a girl and being the “kitty” in the relationship.
Hanna get’s to live out a fantasy. How many women get to grow up and become involved with the guy they swooned over during adolescence, the person who causes you to hold all others to an impossible standard because you’re comparing them to a teenage fantasy? I like that even though she started running to spend time with a guy, it turned into something for herself and from Will’s POV it was never about him feeling she needed to look better, he just cherished the time alone with her. Hanna is a bit socially awkward, due in part from her drive to succeed. She’s brainy, a grad student, and spends all her time in a lab. Before she starts her runs with Will she doesn’t have many friends or much of a social life to speak of. Hanna has no filter, and blurts out anything and everything that pops into that head of hers, causing Will to become speechless and the readers to get in a good laugh at whatever thing just came out of her mouth. She’s funny, curious, and the perfect woman to cause Will’s life to flip upside down.
As always, Christina (and) Lauren bring funny meets steamy to the table. They write characters we want to keep around and see more of. I’ve long been a fan of this series and it more than likely, won’t be the last time I do a re-read. Will has proven himself worthy in the Beautiful Series family in Beautiful Player and Hanna is awkward, sexiness at it’s finest.
FINAL DECISION I enjoyed this one because I simply adored Will. Hanna annoyed me more than I would have liked, but watching Will completely fall for Hanna was worth my annoyance.
THE STORY Hanna Bergstrom's brother is concerned that she has become too obsessed with her work and doesn't have a social life. He makes her promise to get out more and to call his best friend, Will Sumner, for help in getting into the dating scene. What Hanna's brother doesn't know is that Will starred in Hanna's teenage fantasies and he is even more attractive now. Will now finds a woman he can't seem to get out of his mind and who tempts him to something more serious at the same time she doesn't believe that anything with him can be permanent.
OPINION I enjoyed this one primarily because I thought that Will was adorable. I loved how his stumbles and struggles with moving from a man who is happy to have relationships only about sex to wanting a relationship that is all about emotion and connection while the woman is keeping her distance.
This book continues the humor and sexiness of the series, but I got annoyed with Hanna for portions of the book. (Perhaps because the reader is privy to Will's inner thoughts, Hanna's actions seem harsh at times). I also don't really like it when women won't say what they want. Be a grown up and say what is on your mind! On the other hand, I really loved the goofy side of Hanna who says the most inappropriate things.
The book was a really good read, but not up the excellent standards of the first two book in the series for me. But just by a little bit. The quirky and natural interaction between these characters was enjoyable and emotional. The uncertainty and the fears that both characters give the book a sense of honesty that I especially enjoyed.
WORTH MENTIONING My favorite moment in this story actually has to do with Max and Sara. Fans of the their book should definitely read this one.
CONNECTED BOOKS BEAUTIFUL PLAYER is the third book in the Beautiful series. The romance here is a standalone, but there are overlapping characters from the other books in the series.
STAR RATING I give this book 4.5 stars.
